An unpretentious rooftop cocktail bar above Agios Nikolaos with postcard views over the lake, a small dancefloor, and a mixed crowd that gets going late.
Alexandros is the kind of rooftop bar that doesn't need to try very hard — the views over Lake Voulismeni and the harbour do most of the heavy lifting. Lush hanging plants, eclectic décor, and a broad cocktails list fill out the rest, along with staff who are reliably warm and a music policy that keeps the energy up without taking itself too seriously. It's not a gay bar — the crowd is mixed and thoroughly unpretentious — but it's a genuinely fun night out regardless.
The bar starts quietly, with happy hour running from 8pm to 9:30pm, and builds from there as the night matures. A word of advice: don't arrive expecting a buzzing atmosphere at opening time. Greeks don't get going until late, and Alexandros is no exception — come after midnight and you'll find the small dancefloor earning its keep. It stays open until 5am, so there's no rush.
