Southbank is a precinct within South Brisbane and is one of Brisbane’s biggest tourist attractions. It is located on the southern bank of the Brisbane river with sweeping views to the CBD.

Public parklands cover the majority of the site with an arbour snaking its way through the site draped in striking bougainvillea. The parklands have a family-friendly vibe and you’ll find cafes, restaurants, a man-made beach, a ferris wheel, picnic areas, kids playgrounds and BBQs. Southbank is one of 5 parks in Brisbane where you can BYO alcohol. On Sundays during summer, pack a bottle of wine and find a spot for Sunday Social on the Green featuring free live music.

The other major part of Southbank is the Cultural Centre which includes a performance arts centre, 2 art galleries, a museum and the state library.

The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre and several educational institutions are also found at South Bank.
