Come Sunday 12 February, Gertrude and Smith streets will once again be closed to traffic and two stages set up for music and performances celebrating Victoria's diverse LGBTQIA+ communities. Local vendors will set up popup stalls on the street and venues along these streets will host special events. Check the trader's directory for a list of businesses operating on the day.
Last year's event was organised to commemorate 40 years of the decriminalisation of sex between men. Based on the success of this event, it has now become an annual event, with one slight tweak: the event's name has been changed from Melbourne Pride to Victoria's Pride to shift the focus to a state level.
Midsumma will again deliver Victoria’s Pride in partnership with the Victorian Government.
