Parts of Gertrude, Smith and Peel streets in Collingwood and Fitzroy will be closed to traffic and transformed into a huge outdoor street party. Two stages feature a lineup of live performances, music and speakers in addition to interactive activities, community stalls and demonstrations throughout the site.
Local businesses will get their pride on by decking themselves out in pride colours and offering food and drink specials and entertainment - either from the venue itself or via popup street stalls. Check out the traders’ directory to see what local traders have in store for the day.
The event was originally scheduled for December 2021, however was rescheduled because of you-know-what.
The event is intended as a one-off. However, if it’s successful, it seems to me it would make a great addition to the annual Midsumma festival so get yourself to Gertrude street on Sunday 13th, support local business and join in the celebrations.
