Midsumma returns to its rightful place in the middle of summer after being bumped to Autumn last year by Miss Rona. The LGBTQIA+ festival is back with a stellar program featuring signature events Carnival and Pride March as well as a huge lineup of arts and cultural events.
As usual, the 3-week festival kicks off with Carnival in Alexandra Gardens for a day in the park featuring 2 stages of entertainment and a T-Dance pumping out tunes into the night.
The Pride March takes place two weeks later on 6 March. The parade makes its way down Fitzroy Street in St Kilda before errupting into a party at Catani Gardens.
This year’s festival features an added bonus - a special one-day street party in Melbourne’s inner-north to celebrate 40 years since the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Victoria.
