Red Jane is the kind of place that could easily be all surface and no substance — the graffiti-covered exterior, the industrial bones of a 1930s machine workshop, the carefully considered everything — but it genuinely delivers. The pastries are excellent, the sandwiches are made with the same attention to detail as the interior, and the coffee is taken seriously. Someone has put real love into this, and it shows in ways that go beyond how well it photographs.
The brainchild of Nikos Tsepetis — the hotelier behind Ammos, the nearby beach resort that shares a similar design-forward sensibility — Red Jane has the feel of a project built on genuine conviction rather than trend-chasing. The 1930s workshop bones give the space an industrial warmth that's hard to fake, and the result is a café that justifies its reputation rather than just trading on it.
Expect a crowd. Red Jane has earned its Instagram fame and the queue reflects that, particularly on weekends and through the peak summer months. It's worth the wait, but if you're in a hurry, come early or come late. Either way, come.
