UBQ is a queer success story. The venue was formerlly Lantern Lounge, but with new queer ownership as of July 2022, it is being rebranded as queer venue UBQ, or, U B Queer. It’s great to see the concentration of queer bars increasing on this end of Smith street and cementing the neighbourhood as Melbourne’s gay village. That’s one venue down, now just the rest of the street to go!
