Princess Theatre is a grand venue for major live theatre productions.

It is one of the six main theatres in Melbourne's East End Theatre District and one of four that is owned by the Marriner Group.

Considered by many to be the most spectacular landmark in Melbourne, the Princess Theatre is sure to impress with its beautiful design and old world charm.

The theatre was first opened in 1854 and can hold up to 1,500 patrons over three levels. Most recently, there has been a long-running production of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Cursed Child which has proven to be a popular show.

In 1986, it was purchased by Marriner Theatres and refurbished to ensure its future viability as a live theatre venue. It reopened in 1989 with the musical ‘Les Miserables’ followed by ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ which established a new record for the longest-running show ever staged in Victoria.
