House of Mince
Sweaty, maximal, all‑night queer rave chaos in Sydney
Queer Dance Party

House of Mince is Sydney’s cult-favourite queer rave: hard-hitting sounds, fog-thick air, and a dancefloor where looks, sweat and euphoria all go maximal.

House of Mince isn’t just a party, it’s a full-body experience. These often all‑night raves pull in adventurous electronic lineups—think techno, trance, hard dance and experimental club—wrapped in strobes, lasers and rolling fog that make time feel optional.

How Mince Became Mythic

House of Mince grew into a local legend by centring queer joy on the dancefloor: giving space to trans, non-binary and gender-nonconforming bodies, booking boundary-pushing DJs, and championing kink-positive, sex-positive self-expression. It’s part rave, part chosen-family reunion—and a staple of Sydney’s underground nightlife.

The crowd leans fabulously intense: leather, mesh, lace, sportswear and nothing-much-at-all, all grinding together on a dancefloor that treats dancing as a contact sport. It’s flirty, sweaty and gloriously hedonistic, but still grounded in a strong sense of care and community—consent, harm reduction and looking after each other are part of the culture here.

Parties pop up across various Sydney venues and warehouses, so keep an eye on their socials for dates, locations and ticket drops. When House of Mince is on, plan to stay out late, hydrate often, and surrender to the kick drum.

When the Party Hits the Opera House

During Vivid Sydney, House of Mince takes over The Studio at the Sydney Opera House — one of Australia’s most iconic venues — for a legendary Vivid LIVE dance party, bringing inclusive beats, world-class selectors and a unique electro queer energy to this harbour-side institution each festival season.
