The Federation of Gay Games has released a shortlist of bids for the 2026 Gay Games - and Brisbane ain’t on it.

The shortlist of host cities for the 12th edition of the gay sporting event has been reduced to Munich, Valencia and Guadalajara. Brisbane has been knocked out of the running along with Auckland, San Diego, Taipei, and Toronto.

Brisbane was included in the shortlist of 8 bids released in August last year.

The next step in the bidding process is site inspections of the 3 remaining bids. The final vote will take place at the Federation of Gay Games Annual General Assembly meeting in Hong Kong in November.
