It is the main home of the Melbourne Theatre Company which presents an annual season of around 12 plays as well as other activties.
There are also additional shows and performances throughout the year by other arts organisations.
Southbank Theatre was opened in 2009 and designed by the award-winning ARM Architecture firm based in Melbourne.
