Cooks' Cottage was relocated from Yorkshire, England and brought to Fitzroy Gardens in Melbourne in 1934.
Cook's Cottage was built by Captain Cook's parents. However, he never lived in the cottage as he had been exploring for 10 years at the point in which the cottage was built in Yorkshire, Englad in 1755. It was transpoted to Australia by Sir Russel Grimwade. Amazingly, each brick was numbered in order to re-contstruct it in Australia along with original ivy cuttings from the Cooks' garden.
